Once Upon a Time

The Goblin Market by Hilda Koe, c. 1901

There lived a Fairy Princess in a Kingdom that was a little bit Topsy-Turvy. Not all the citizens knew that this was so. But the Princess came from a long line of people who fought Trolls, Goblins, and Ogres who disguised themselves as humans, and her Grandmother taught her how to spot them and what to do about them. The Grandmother did this so that Someday the Princess could teach other people how to stay safe from Trolls, Goblins, and Ogres.

One day, a terrible illness spread across the land. The Mother of the Princess was afraid the Princess would get sick and so kept her at home. The Princess grew weary of being at home so whiled away her hours by reading about everything her Grandmother had taught her. The time has now come for the Princess to teach other good and nice people how to avoid Trolls, Goblins, and Ogres.

You can see the Grandmother through the Gravatar Mouse-hole.
